I told you what I did, and it worked for a few minutes, but in testing shortly after the behavior repeated itself, so I uninstalled Office 2007 Pro and reinstalled it. Interesting this only happened when I tried to open Word--probably far and away the most used Office app, but I'm not sure of that.

First, when we install office 2007 products it is causing IE to crash when we try to open office documents in sharepoint. This is not my issue/question, but when we uninstall the office 2007 product and try to open office documents in sharepoint, they open in the IE browser instead of in the actual office program.
